How We Became Invisible

More than ten years ago our founders and benefactors were moved to find ways to make anonymous contributions to the community. In particular, our founders were inspired to anonymously lift people over obstacles blocking a constructive path. In our search for beneficiaries, we read news stories, reached out to homeless shelters, orphanages, schools, synagogues, churches and many other similarly minded foundations to learn of those in need of a lift. After a few years of interceding with anonymous contributions, we created The Invisible Hand Foundation to formalize our benefactors’ mission and practice of anonymous giving to those in need of overcoming an obstacle. Now our “invisible hand” delivers the needed boost.

Our Vision

Our vision is for fellow benefactors to create their own vehicles for community-based, anonymous giving so the impact of this special form of giving can multiply. Anonymous giving was trumpeted at least by the twelfth century by the noted philosopher Maimonides, who identified anonymous giving to anonymous recipients as a highest level of charitable giving.
